August
16 2006 marks Janmashtami, the appearance day of Lord Krishna: the absolute
level of life in human form. In Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna declares

Krishna
is Vishnu avatar [great incarnation]. Vishnu controls maintenance &
preservation on every level of universal activity. He is commonly invoked
to protect & preserve one's interests in the active phases of life.
Each year, on & around this day, yagyas are performed to promote
marital & family happiness & well being: cultivating devotion
to family and to God. Generally, yagyas promoting preservation &
well being in all areas of active life will be highly effective on this
